Storm Damage Repair in Purcell
After hail or high wind, you want to know what actually happened to your roof and what it will take to fix it. We climb up, photograph every problem we find, explain it in plain words and send the same small crew back to do the repair.

What storm damage repair covers
Storm damage often hides in plain sight. Hail can fracture the shingle mat beneath the granules and leave a soft spot you'd only notice by pressing on it. Wind can pop the adhesive strip on a row of shingles, so they lie flat this week and fold back during the next blow. Either kind of damage cuts years off a roof well before any water reaches the inside of your home.
We find that damage, show you the evidence and repair what needs it. On some roofs the fix is a few replaced shingles and some new flashing. On others the hits are spread over every slope, and a full roof replacement is the better choice. Either way, we explain what we're seeing and why, and the decision stays with you.
The person who climbs up to inspect your roof works on the crew that fixes it. Nobody new shows up on repair day asking what the problem was.
What we take care of after a storm
- A close, hands-on inspection
- We cover every slope, feeling shingles for soft hail bruises and looking for creased tabs. Vents, pipe boots, ridge caps and flashing all get checked, along with gutters and downspouts, because dents in soft metal are often the clearest sign hail struck your home.
- Marked photos you can keep
- Each damaged spot is photographed and marked so you see exactly what we saw up there. The pictures belong to you, and you can pass them along to your insurer if you decide to file.
- Temporary cover if water can get in
- When wind has torn open a spot, we can tarp or seal it so your decking and attic stay dry while the permanent repair gets on the calendar.
- Repairs to shingles, flashing and vents
- Broken and creased shingles get replaced, lifted flashing is resealed or swapped out, and cracked vent caps and pipe boots are replaced. We match new material to your roof as closely as today's product lines allow.
- A look at the decking
- With the damaged shingles removed, we check the plywood below. Any soft or stained sheets are replaced before fresh underlayment and shingles go on.
- Cleanup before we go
- Between storm debris and torn-off roofing, there's a lot to clear. We load up the old material and haul it off, then run a magnetic roller over the lawn, flower beds and driveway so loose nails don't end up in a tire or a bare foot.
How to tell a storm hurt your roof
Grit collecting under downspouts
If you find a pile of sandy granules at the base of a downspout right after hail, your shingles have likely been stripped of their protective coating.
Dented gutters, vents or AC units
Hail strong enough to dent the metal around your home hit the roof with the same force. Gutter dents can deserve attention too, and our gutters page explains that work.
Bent, crooked or missing shingles
Watch for tabs that curl up, sit out of line or have blown off, most often along the edges and the ridge where wind catches first.
Fresh ceiling or attic stains
A new brownish ring on a ceiling or a wet patch in the attic after rough weather means an opening up top needs prompt care.
Roofing scraps on the lawn
Finding shingle pieces, bits of ridge cap or a section of drip edge in the grass tells you part of the roof has come loose.
How a storm repair job runs
- 1
You call and describe the storm
We ask what kind of weather came through, whether anything is leaking and what you've spotted from the ground. Then we pick a time to come out.
- 2
We inspect and take photos
A member of our crew goes up, records the damage and goes over the photos with you, either at your kitchen table or on your phone. You get our straight answer on repairing versus replacing.
- 3
You receive a written estimate
Each piece of work is spelled out on its own line. That makes it easy to hold up against your adjuster's report if you've filed a claim.
- 4
Familiar faces do the repair
The same people you met at the inspection arrive on repair day. We cover plants and siding, tear off the damaged roofing, check the plywood and put the new work in place.
- 5
We walk the finished job with you
After cleanup, we show you the completed repair and give you before-and-after photos to keep with your home records.

What moves the price of a storm repair
Every storm hits a roof differently, so we don't give a number until we've been up there and seen the damage. Your written estimate lists each task on its own line, with nothing bundled into one vague total. If you have a claim open, we can show you how those lines line up with your adjuster's report, though coverage decisions stay with your insurance company.
- How widespread the damage is
- Replacing several torn tabs on a single slope takes a short day. Hail marks scattered over every side of the roof turns into a far bigger project.
- What we find under the shingles
- Plywood that soaked up water and went soft has to come out and be replaced before new underlayment can go down. We can't always see this until the old shingles are off, and we'll show you photos if it comes up.
- How steep and tall your roof is
- A steep pitch or a second story means more harnesses, anchors and careful footwork. That extra setup time shows up as labor on the estimate.
- Finding shingles that match
- Some older colors and styles are no longer made. Tracking down a close match can change the material cost, and sometimes it affects whether a patch will blend in with the rest of your roof.
- Extra parts around the roof
- Damaged chimney flashing, skylights, satellite dish mounts and dented gutters each add their own pieces and time to the job.
Questions about storm damage repair
Something not covered here? (405) 883-5339
Do I call a roofer or my insurance company first?
Plenty of homeowners ask us to take a look before they open a claim, so they know whether the storm actually did any harm. Our photos and notes give you something solid to base that choice on. If you go ahead and file, your insurer sends its own adjuster, and that adjuster decides what the policy covers.
Can you meet with my insurance adjuster?
Yes, we can be up on the roof during the adjuster's visit and point to each spot we photographed. We don't stand in for your adjuster or argue your policy terms. We simply explain what we found, in everyday language, to you both.
Can my roof be patched, or does the storm mean replacing it?
It depends on how many slopes took hits and how much life the roof had before the weather rolled through. If a patch will hold up, we say so without hedging. If damage runs across most of the roof, we'll walk you through the photos showing why replacement is the better use of your money, and you make the call.
What should I do to keep water out before you get here?
If the storm opened a gap, we can tarp it or apply a temporary seal on our first trip out. Inside your home, pull furniture and boxes away from any drip and catch the water in a bucket. Please stay off a wet or damaged roof; it's slick and the decking may be weak.
